March
2009
Hello Parents!
It’s
that time again! As summer approaches in just a few short months, I am putting
the finishing touches on my summer sewing camps. This year the camps are themed
with specific projects and techniques designed to build sewing skills and
challenge each sewer’s creativity. No two camps are the same and within each
camp are a multitude of different projects that every age group will enjoy.
Camps
begin the week of June 15, 2009 and run through September 4, 2009. Camps run 5
days a week with the morning session running from 9am – 12pm and the afternoon
session running from 1pm -4pm. Campers staying for both sessions will eat a
packed lunch from 12pm – 1pm each day. Parents needing additional time to get
to and from work can take advantage of before (7am-9am) and after (4pm-6pm)
care at a cost of$12/hour ( same rate as 1 hour of camp).

Both
morning and afternoon sessions will cost $225 per session (campers attending
full day will pay $225 x 2 or $450/week) and will be all inclusive this year with
no supply lists whatsoever! The $225 fee per session will include

One Basic sewing kit (see below) at No Charge for each student as
my gift to each sewer. Campers attending multiple weeks of camp will only be
given 1 free sewing gift given to them the first week of camp attended

A
basic sewing kit will be allotted to
each camper consisting of scissors, pins, pin cushion, and a seam ripper. All
other equipment needed during the week will be provided by Fascination in
Fabrics.

the Project kits that will be needed by your sewer for the week to
complete the 5 -7 projects in any given week
·
Project kits will have all patterns,
directions, fabric, embellishments, and notions needed to complete each project
presented during the week. Five to seven projects per session will be sewn
depending on each sewer’s ability and skill level.
What
this means for my parents and campers alike are no hassles and no shopping for
anything because I have done it all for you!
How
cool is that? Now onto snacks because my campers are always thirsty and hungry
halfway through each session (and sometimes sooner=>)!
Snacks
are always optional and up to each camper to bring each day. That being said,
this summer I will be shopping each week for juice packs, water, and snacks
including fruit and healthy snacks. I will sell these drinks and snacks at cost
to campers with parental permission to purchase them. Again, I’m trying to
think of everything over the past 3 years that will make the week fun and
hassle free.
A
final note: If your sewer gets chilly in air conditioning, please send a sweater
with them or have them dress in pants or
