For Teens

And

Young Adults

v      Interested in learning to sew?

v     Are you a high school student wanting to progress to the next level with your sewing skills after taking some consumer science courses?

v     Are you a sewer that wants to learn a new kind of sewing like quilting, clothing construction, or making doll clothes?

v     Are you interested in a possibly being a fashion designer or pursuing other careers in fashion or theatre and need to sharpen your sewing skills?

v     Or, do you just want to sew and have fun with others who share your passion for sewing?

Then these night classes might be just for you!  After determining your interests and what you would enjoy accomplishing, you’ll start working on your first project. Advance at your own pace and choose your projects for each week of class depending on your interests and your skill level. Classes

are small to maintain an enjoyable and optimal learning environment with no more than 4 students per class. Camps fill quickly so register early! Join in the fun and be able to say to everyone “Like it? I made it myself!”

Ø       Classes will be held at the home of    Ms. Bobbi Smith, 3008 Larkin Rd, Boothwyn, PA 19061, approximately one mile from the Wilmington De/PA border and between Naaman’s Creek Rd (on the PA side) and Naaman’s Rd (on the DE side).

Ø       Students must be at least 14 years old to attend night classes or have permission from the instructor if younger than 14. .

Ø       Night sessions will start the week of June 17 and end the week of August 26

Ø       Night classes will run for 4 weeks per session from 7pm-9pm on Tuesday and/or Thursday nights.

Ø      Night class fees are $120 per 4 week session. Students will be expected to bring a sewing kit and a 16 Qt Plastic Tote to class. These items can be purchased from the instructor.

Ø       Supplies for projects such as patterns, trims, notions, fabrics, etc will be the responsibility of the student. Supply sheets will be given for first day projects with receipt of registration. Instructor has a shop and kits can be purchased as an option from the instructor for any or all projects, if desired.

Ø       For each night class session that you register, a $50 non-refundable fee must accompany your registration.  The balance of payment for all classes is due by June 1, 2008.

Ø       Students needing to cancel participation in any night class must give at least TWO WEEKS WRITTEN NOTICE or forfeit the entire camp fee to Instructor. Upon receipt of timely written notice, we will gladly refund your class fee minus any non- refundable fees.

A Special note from the instructor

Whether you are just learning to sew for pleasure or taking sewing classes to help make college courses easier, I want you to know that I have a broad background in many areas of the sewing and needle arts. Let me help you achieve your sewing aspirations in a fun and relaxed atmosphere with other students who share your interests.
